‘Kunle Adebajo graduated from the University of Ibadan, in theory, in 2017. The reality is a little more complicated. He was a member of both the Faculty of Law and Mellanby Hall Literary and Debating Societies. He participated actively in Jaw War between 2014 and 2016. Some of the speaking awards he got while on campus included: Winner, 2014 In-House Speaking Championship, Faculty of Law; 1st runner up, 2014 Professor Egbokhare Inter-Press Debate; 1st Runner-Up, 2015 SCOLA Inter-Faculty Oratory Competition, Winner, 2015 NigMUNS Annual Inter-Organisational Debate; Best Orator and Winner, 2015 King of the Podium Speaking Contest; Nominee, 2016 UISU Student Debater of the Year; and Winner and Best Speaker, 2016 Students’ Union Intervarsity Debate. He also excelled as a student journalist and essayist.
2016 TLDS Award for the Punchline of the Year.
2017 TLDS Award for the Finalist of the Year
What he currently does
‘Kunle is the Head of Investigations at HumAngle, a media outfit based in Abuja. This means he leads a team of journalists to deeply report issues surrounding conflict, insecurity, and human rights in Nigeria, focusing especially on how those issues affect ordinary people. It also means, perhaps except when he asks for a leave of absence, he doesn’t really get holidays.
