As preparation for this year’s edition of the biggest student public speaking competition in West Africa, Jaw War, hits full gear, the organisers have commenced recruitment of volunteers.
According to the recruitment form made available to the public, on Wednesday (28th April, 2021), by the Literary and Debating Society of the University of Ibadan, volunteers are needed in seven different categories
The categories includes: Social Media Management/Public Relations; Content/copywriting; Cinematography and Photography.
Others are Design and Visual Communication; Finance and Sponsorship, and Logistics.
“Volunteering to work with us will go a long way to serve the populace and you have a great opportunity to showcase your skills to the largest Student organization’s event in the University of Ibadan and Africa,” a statement by the LnD society read in part.
Known for its electrifying audience of over 6000 students and non-students, Jaw war is an American presidential style debate competition between Faculties and Hall of residences in the University of Ibadan.
The competition has produced some of the most reputable public speakers in the country and is the basis for, unarguably, one of the most healthy academic rivalry between students across the continent.
